One of our more recent review tasks has been that of DoMyEssay.net, an essay writing service stating it has been in business since 2005, headquartered in London. In conducting this review, we looked at a number of factors. We studied the entire website and all of its content, read a few articles on its blog and published testimonials, contacted customer service with questions, looked at pricing, and read customer reviews posted on other websites and social media. Everything was just like we always do, which led us to produce a list of the best essay writing service reviews. As is always our practice, we also ordered a short college-level research paper.

Advertised Products and Services

Do My Essay is solely an academic writing company, doing research and writing for students from high school forward. Products include all of the types of academic writing assignments students might face at the various academic levels through Ph.D. programs.

Beyond the advertised original academic products, DoMyEssay provides editing and proofreading services, along with admission, scholarship, and personal statement essays for college and grad school applications.

Quality of Products/Writers

In checking DoMyEssay.net reviews, we found several customers who were unhappy with the products and services. Specifically, their complaints were as follows:

• Quality of Writing: Customers stated that their writers were probably not ENL because there were a number of grammatical errors and wrong word usage.
• Missed Deadlines: Several customers stated they received their products late and did not ask for revisions because they were on tight deadlines. They did the revisions themselves.
• Quality of Resources: Some customers were unhappy with the resources used, stating they were too “elementary” for their academic levels

In reviewing the research paper we ordered, some of the same issues were apparent. We did receive our product one day beyond our deadline. We asked for a partial refund because of this but did not receive it. There were also a number of composition and word usage errors, indicative of ESL writers. Do My Essay states that all of its writers are ENL – we doubt it.

We do want to say that this essay writing service is not a fraud or scam. Customers do get their products. The issues are quality of writing, resources, and adherence to customer deadlines.

Customer Support/Service

There is no live chat feature on the site. customers may contact the writing service representatives via phone or by leaving a message. We do not recommend leaving a message because these are not responded to. We called on two occasions and spoke with two different reps. They were not able to immediately answer our questions but did place us on hold while they found the answers. They were friendly and cordial.

Pricing/Discounts

Our 8-page paper, with a 7-day deadline, was $136.00, an average price for similar products elsewhere. Prices range from $12/page for high school products with a long deadline to $48/page for Ph.D.-level work with a more urgent deadline.

We scoured the site for a promo code for newcomer discounts but were unable to find one. We contacted customer support to inquire about special pricing and were told that, occasionally, the site would publish coupon codes when they held special sales.

Additional Benefits

DoMyEssay offers free title and bibliography pages. Beyond that, however, there are no other benefits or perks unless the customer is willing to pay for them.

There is a blog, and some of the articles are interesting. However, many are very self-promotional and do contain grammatical errors.

Final Verdict

DoMyEssay is not a member of the BBB, and we do like to see membership so that an independent rating can be given by a reputable business organization. We also have some concerns about the maintenance of the site itself. On the home page, there is a chart listing the products “currently being worked on” with the delivery of “today.” These are exactly the same products that appeared on another review website two months ago.

As we look at the pros & cons, the cons rather outweigh the pros of this essay writing service. We cannot recommend it to students at this time.
